Good Gaming – Star Wars Battlefront Death Star DLC Free Weekend

GGPC Star Wars Battlefront Free DLC Weekend Blog

If you’ve got Star Wars Battlefront but haven’t grabbed the DLC packs this weekend you’ll be able to jump in and check out the Death Star DLC for free. Hot on the heels of the Rouge One movie release those fine folks at Origin are making the Star Wars Battlefront Death Star DLC pack available to all that have got Star Wars Battlefront installed (if you don’t, you can sign up for Origin Access on the cheap and it’s one of the included games:)

The Death Star DLC includes new maps as well as the multi-stage Battle Station mode. What’s really cool about this one is it lets us re-live the iconic Death Star trench run as we attempt to take down the massive space station by firing a couple of torpedoes down a small exhaust port – an easy task for anyone that used to bullseye womp rats in a T-16 back home, they’re not much bigger than two meters 😛

Star Wars Battlefront is a really good looking game and you won’t need a crazy high end system to enjoy its beautiful graphics, below is a quick in-game performance test with our GGPC Outlaw Gaming PC as we run around blasting rebels with an AMD RX 460!

New Star Wars Outer Rim Gameplay

A new DLC pack drops this March taking us to the Outer Rim 🙂  Four new maps, two heroes and a game mode named Extraction which looks to be some sort of escort mission.  Also featured in the Outer Rim pack is some new weapons – the Relby V-10 rifle (where’s Bossk!) and the DT-12 blaster pistol, star cards – Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade and Adrenaline Stim and more.

With the graphics quality in Battlefront being among the highest we see in games out these days and these locations looking simple stunning in the trailer – we can’t wait to get in and check things out!

Okay … that made Greedo look cool.  But as for who shot who at the end – that definitely sounded like Hans blaster… right?

If you haven’t jumped into Star Wars Battlefront yet and are wondering what kind of hardware it takes to run a game that looks this amazing check out our gameplay FPS test from our Hero Gaming PC below!
