The new Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics cards is set to be released on February 26th at 6am here in New Zealand, with awesome new options in a wide range of aftermarket cooling designs from EVGA, Asus, Gigabyte available on day one with more to come!
Being a 30 series RTX GPU, this new 3060 is super powerful, as we’ve come to expect from this latest generation of graphics cards, and the first options also have a rather massive allocation of memory at 12GB running with a 192-bit memory bus – that’s more and less than the just-released RTX3060Ti, which has 8GB at 256-bit, we’re unsure if/when other memory options are coming.
That aside the RTX 3060 is a very exciting graphic card with slightly lower spec’s than the Ti version across the board, and thanks to those relaxed power requirements and great performance, it’s sure to be extremely popular. The RTX 3060 is geared to support the latest Nvidia feature sets, including Broadcast for streamers and NVIDIA Reflex for high FPS gamers, which is even more exciting now with some of the compatible mice, such as the Logitech PRO X Superlight, being released already.
Looking at the base specs we see the RTX 3060 packs in 3,584 cores, with its base clock from Nvidia showing 1.32GHz – it’s going to be very interesting to see how far EVGA, Asus and Gigabyte can push this default spec up! If the mighty Gigabyte AORUS RTX 3060 Elite shown above is any indication of what we can expect – it’s going to be quite the race.
On the other end of the spectrum, we see the EVGA RTX 3060 cooler design for their black series is looking super cool too, suitably dark and low key in comparison!
Oddly, these are also looking to be the first new RTX 30 GPU that Nvidia hasn’t shown a Founders Edition for, so it’s going to be interesting to see if those might come a bit later with other memory configuration, but that’s just speculation at this point.
You can check out all the latest RTX3060 options as soon as they become available (6am, early Friday morning here in NZ) in the Nvidia Store at PB Tech.
