UPDATE: Hands on the with new Silver G413 – it’s beautiful!
Hot on the heels of the excellent TKLGaming Keyboard just released (Ten Key Less, it basically means no numpad :P), those fine folks at Logitech G have just released another TWO new metal keyboard options for us!
Full sized but lightweight with high strength aluminum alloy top casing for added rigidity along with a slim, blade-like form factor thanks to the way the keys raise off the board – they’ve done something brilliant here within the keycaps and the LED lighting on these doesn’t suffer from the light leakage issues you may have experienced in the past with other slim metal board designs, the package even includes extra gaming keycaps that are interchangeable with the ones in the keyboard as well as a keycap puller to get those keys out when you feel like it.
One of the best bit’s about these new G413 is they both feature a USB passthrough so you can charge your smartphone from the keyboard, an excellent feature that should be on every gaming keyboard! They’ve also added a nice cable route pathway on the bottom of the keyboard too ensure everything stays super tidy 🙂
The media, brightness and volume controls are now integrated as secondary functions accessed via the F keys. and you can also setup your favourite programmable macros for games via the Logitech Gaming Software suite. Two distinct versions are available, the first is Carbon Black with a red LED backlight and the second is a super cool looking Silver G413 version with white LED.
The G533 is a sleek new gaming headset that’s using the same Pro-G audio drivers found in the exceptional 933 Artemis Spectrum, it’s also packing DTS X 7.1 surround sound which accurately replicates 7.1 speaker position so we can enjoy all the ambient sounds and audio ques that make playing games with a nice headset oh so enthralling 🙂 It’s also handy for a multiplayer gamer as being able to hear which direction gunfire is coming from can be a pretty neat tool for getting into the action (or getting out the way :P) You can configure all this and more with the Logitech Gaming Software.
The headset packs in all the goodness we’ve come to expect from Logitech G with earpieces that can also be removed and washed if needed, these cups also pivot making for comfortable in those moment when you’ve got the headset around your neck as you run off to grab a quick Redbull between matches 🙂 You’ll still be able to hear when the next match is coming up because this one is wireless thanks to an included 2.4GHz USB dongle (which apparently gives even more range than the G933!) and will last a solid 15 hours of game time at around 50% volume, which is managed via that slick roller we liked so much in our G910 Gaming Keyboard review \o/
UPDATE: We’re well into testing this one out for ourselves now and it’s really good, a few things have really stood out to us. Firstly the unobstructed range appears to be well over 15 metres, with the USB dongle in our GGPC editor rig we still had a perfect connection all the way down in the other end of the workshop and that’s a good 30 metres away! When testing in a two story house we were able to head downstairs and into the kitchen to grab a drink and still maintain voice comms while waiting in que, great stuff Logitech 🙂 Battery wise the headset has just crossed the 16 hour mark and do another quick test soon to see how long this thing last at full volume (which we don’t advise, these ear cannons are loud!).
To be perfectly clear, wireless mice were not always this good – and getting them to this point sure took a while… finally the latest wireless ones are as fast as their wired friends, and also have very nice lightweight feel to them \o/
The battery life for both is also really excellent, spanning over several days of heavy gaming without the need to charge but for a wireless mouse to beat out the wired competition it must be able to be charged conveniently as well, even in the middle of a game. For this there are no fancy external docks needed instead a USB cable connects to the front of the mouse turning it into a wired mouse while it charges – so no problem at all 🙂 Logitech Gaming Software can be used to customise the RGB LED lighting on both to further increase the time between charges, though we’d kinda miss having everything glowing away in perfect sync.
Speed wise they really are fast – fast enough to take on professional eSports scene and in the recent ESL finals between SK Gaming and Cloud9 player Autimatic used a G403 and after his team won he got also got given the MVP award as well 🙂
We’ve been using both the G403 and G900 since launch earlier this year and happily recommend them, the G403 has a price that’s pretty hard to resist but if you go with the larger G900 you’ll get more buttons and also that slick ambidextrous design making it perfect for lefties.
If you’ve looked into webcams for YouTube channels or Twitch streaming before you’ve likely seen a fair few people out there recommending the Logitech C920, it was (and still is) a great option for capturing video while still being pretty affordable.
Now Logitech are bringing a new Webcam into the mix with a feature set that’s designed to meet the demands of serious streamers everywhere, the C922 Pro Stream makes it easy to produce clear, professional content. You can stream and record video in your choice of sharp, true-to-life 1080p at 30fps or a fluid 720p at 60fps to match the speed of your game. Uploads are fast and smooth thanks to built-in advanced H.264 video compression, freeing up processing power and network bandwidth to keep your game smooth while you broadcast.
It’s even packing a digital dynamic background replacement powered by Personify, so you can easily integrate your live image into the game on Twitch or YouTube without a complicated green screen setup. Automatic low-light correction and premium autofocus through a full HD glass lens adjusts to your movements and environment, so you have a consistent broadcast even in the dim, fluctuating light gamers regularly experience.
The C922 Pro Stream could well be the perfect all-in-one choice for getting into streaming and although getting yourself a dedicated directional microphone is definitely going to make things even better the C922 does have built-in dual omni-directional noise cancelling microphones to capture stereo audio from every angle which is pretty good.
It also includes a fully adjustable tabletop tripod lets you record from the most flattering angle for your stream 😛
Logitech have also teamed up with gaming broadcast software XSplit and a complimentary 3-month XSplit Premium license for Windows is included so you can easily start streaming and recording your PC games with professional-grade tools and features right out of the box.
The Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam is available now and below is a quick test with the Personify feature, this and all the other goodness it brings with it this one’s sure to go down well with gamers around the world! On that note we happily give it our GGPC recommends award – the Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam is GOOD!
UPDATE: This amazing keyboard is available in NZ now!
Not to be confused with the previous Orion Spark the new Logitech G Orion Spectrum is what happens when a company listens to customer feedback and adjusts to make their products even better. An awesome version of the G910 from Logitech is incoming – The G910 Orion Spectrum!
With a darker look, RGB logo and those ultra fast Romer-G mechanical switches to give you incredible responsiveness, this sleek RGB Mechanical keyboard actuates your presses faster than standard mechanical switches. This faster actuation gives you faster response for the winning edge in battles where every move you make matters.
A small detail in the keycaps has been adjusted to be smoother allowing for easier finger travel between them during the more complex maneuvers we all attempt while in the heat of battle.
As with the original Orion Spark the Spectrum allows for some pretty extreme customisation via the Logitech Gaming software, you can tweak keyboards lighting effects and mark individual keys by colour to keep track of spells and game commands. Each key’s backlight can be customised from a palette of 16.8 million colors. The key letters are entirely illuminated for a beautiful, evenly-lit glow with minimal light leakage 🙂 You can also download ARX Control app for your smartphone (here are links for Android and Apple) which introduces some second-screen capabilities. Use your smart phone or tablet screen to display in-game info, vital system statistics and more. The keyboard’s adjustable smart dock positions your phone perfectly at the top of the keyboard.
We’ve really put this keyboard through some extremely enjoyable game testing and happily give it our full recommendation – the Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum is GOOD!
This keyboard is outstanding top to bottom, in-game integration for lighting effects is simply outstanding – check out the video below as we test this with Counter Strike: Global Offensive using the key lighting to signal the number of rounds left in our clip.
Logitech have absolutely nailed it with their latest design – the G403 Prodigy Wireless Gaming Mouse is an exceptional piece of gaming gear with a very comfortable shape and smooth movements that performs well above its price point. Logitech have created a lightweight, ergonomically designed body with rubber grips on the left and right sides to give you added control while the body molds to your hand for long-lasting comfort during gameplay 🙂
The Prodigy G403 brings together supreme comfort, quality, and durability in a wireless mouse that’s built for speed, accuracy and endurance. With a 1ms report rate, G403 is up to 8x faster than standard mice, when the mouse is moved or clicked, the response is near-instantaneous allowing us to be more accurate than ever been before. The G403 Prodigy features the world’s most advanced gaming mouse sensor, used by eSports pros worldwide and it is exceptionally precise and consistent so you can respond quicker and enjoy more accurate targeting. With a lightweight construction and included 10g removable weight, you have options when it comes to tuning the mouse to your preferences. Advanced buttons use metal springs to help keep the left and right mouse buttons primed to click, reducing the force needed to click and delivering exceptional click feel, response, and consistency.
Battery life wise the mouse holds its charge well and we were able to game with no interruptions for a full night, should the gaming session last so long that you do need to charge simple connect the cable to front of the mouse and continue gaming on 🙂 This charging cable can also be used as a USB wireless dongle extension thanks to a handy adaptor included in the box.
Logitech G403 Prodigy Gaming Mouse can be fully configured using Logitech Gaming Software to quickly match to your preferences. As with other recent gear from Logitech G you can use this software to choose from a palette of up to 16.8 million colours and brightness levels(both the logo and a laser strip on the mouse wheel) to match your favorite team, personal style, system or environment. Advanced users can configure the 6 programmable buttons to simplify in-game actions via the Logitech Gaming Software and quickly execute complex tasks, you can then save your settings to the memory on the mouse and use your settings on any PC without needing additional software or requiring a log in to use them. With onboard memory, you can take your settings with you wherever you go. On-the-fly DPI shifting that lets you program and switch between up to 5 sensitivity settings, from pixel-precise targeting (200 DPI) for sniping, to lightning-fast maneuvers (up to 12000 DPI) for fast and accurate 180-degree turns.
It’s not often we see a mouse this good, and after a long weekend gaming with it we happily give this mouse our GGPC Recommends Award – The Logitech G403 Prodigy Wireless Gaming Mouse is GOOD!
Just announced, Logitech have some awesome new gaming gear coming they’ve bunched together under the name Prodigy \o/
Based on the excellent G230 Gaming Headset (which we already know is good) the new Prodigy G231 continues the tradition and offers the perfect solution for gamers looking for an extremely lightweight option that has a fold up microphone and connects via 3.5mm rather than USB.
The earpieces have been designed to be slim and light, without skimping on audio quality. Marathon gaming sessions mean things can get a little hot and sweaty so those talented guy and gals in the Logitech G design team covered the G231 ear cups with high performance cloth for a comfortable, soft touch but these also slip off easily for washing so we can keep our headsets in tip top condition 🙂
The G231 unidirectional mic can be positioned as needed for clear communication on the battlefield, should someone in the real world urgently need to ask you a question just flick the mic up to talk to them without your teammates hearing what you’re about to have for dinner. There is also quick volume/mic controller on the cable itself and you can mute the mic here with the flick of a switch – too easy!
Sometimes between games we like to have our headsets around our necks while we discuss strategy with our team mates and it can be a bit uncomfortable doing this with fixed earcups, the G231 earpieces can swivel 90 degrees which is great for this – nice work Logitech!
Logitech G have created a beautiful “Snow” special edition for their awesome G933 7.1 Dolby Gaming Headset and oohhhh it’s looking really good. The headset itself hasn’t changed, it’s still the excellent wireless unit that provides around 8 hours of continuous wireless gaming freedom but in this new colour scheme it certainly stands out from the crowd even more than before 🙂
The G933 features advanced Pro-G audio drivers are made with hybrid mesh materials that provide the high quality audio performance gaming demands. These Pro-G drivers deliver both clean and accurate highs as well as a deep rich bass that you would expect from premium headphones so you can experience incredible 7.1 surround sound with Dolby or DTS Headphone:X Surround Sound. These audio technologies helps to create a more lifelike in-game special awareness, allowing you to clearly hear enemies sneaking around.
Sporting a really good noise-cancelling boom mic, your communication in game will be crispy clear and when you’re not using it the mic can be folded back into the headphones and is nearly invisible. G933 is travel-ready with an included mobile cable and secondary inline mic for mobile devices when you don’t want a microphone boom in your face.
Even though it’s primarily a wireless gaming headset the Artemis Snow gives you the best of both worlds, with the option to play either wirelessly or wired \o/ Play either on the 2.4GHz wireless or use the 3.5mm analog input on the headset to play wired without using battery power. Both the light strip and logo can each be programmed to different colours or effects, or can be synchronised. Adjustable RGB lighting to suit and the Logitech Gaming Software can even deploy your chosen colour scheme over all your logitech gaming gear for the perfect setup.
Ping Zero is a gaming event that started out as a hobby with a few mates and became New Zealand’s longest running and largest regular gaming event, an ever-growing community of veteran and new-generation gamers 🙂

It’s an R18 event, so people are free to have a few drinks with their friends in between all the fragging, there will be an exclusive Ping Zero Pale Ale Craft Beer at the event as well!
Ping Zero is a professional event and as such will provide the gamer with fast internet, stable power, and a great friendly atmosphere. If you are new to competitive gaming this is a great way to meet like-minded people, as everyone feels welcome.

Logitech has been working on a new wireless gaming mouse design and their efforts come to life with the latest G900 Chaos Spectrum – they might have just built a mouse that outperforms all other gaming mice, including wired ones 🙂
This lightweight semi modular masterpiece is well suited for both lefties and right handers with the side buttons being removable and you can even opt to have no side buttons with the included plates. The G900 has 5-11 buttons available to you, including a left and right click on the scroll wheel.
Unplug the data and charging cable to seamlessly switch between wired and wireless modes without interrupting your game. It’s got staying power – the wireless battery life of older G700 was a admirable 8-10 hours, the G602 had its rather insane 200+ hours battery life but the trade off was weight added by two AA batteries (or one, the mouse can be used just a single battery) and while the G900 doesn’t quite hit those numbers you can still game without recharge for around 24 hours with all the lighting on, and upto 32 hours with the lights off. The mouse automatically goes to sleep when not in use and wakes up quickly when you want to use it again.
The Chaos Spectrum is equipped with the PMW3366 optical sensor which is widely regarded as the best gaming mouse sensor on the market. With features like zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration across the entire DPI range (200-12,000DPI) this component delivers incredible tracking and accuracy with consistent responsiveness even at maximum speed.
LED is the now more commonplace 16.8 million configurable along with your macros via the Logitech Gaming Software, it features two lighting zones that can be tweaked independently or colour synced to match your setup. Don’t forget to grab the ARX control app as well, if you’re reading this on your smartphone here are the links for Android and iOS 🙂
UPDATE: This amazing mouse is now available in New Zealand!
