Fallout 4

Good Gaming – Fallout 4 Free Weekend

Those fine folks at Bethesda are making their epic game, Fallout 4, free to play via Steam this weekend!

If you’ve someone missed this one (or maybe just experienced it on a console) Fallout 4 is a massive post-apocalyptic role-playing extravaganza that’s quite brilliant, you can play in a bunch of different styles and if you really want to rush it, you could actually complete the main storyline over the weekend 😛

The PC version is MOD ready and plays well on range of graphics cards, we’ve tested this one quite recently with the new Gaming Laptops as well and it ran like a dream!

If you’re lucky enough to be packing something like a GTX 1080 in your system you can even use our custom settings below and get crazy good performance at 4K \o/

Choose from one of the categories below for your submission:

– Mods manipulating the way things work in the game, like dialogue, audio mods, patches, UI changes, and Utilities
– Mods based around creating weapons, enhancements to existing weapons, apparel, aids/chems, miscellaneous items, and more

Here’s how to enter:

STEP 1: Download and use the Fallout 4 Creation Kit Mod tools to create a Mod that best meets the judging criteria as described below.
STEP 2: Upload your Mod, along with a screenshot and or video of how it works, to Bethesda.net.
STEP 3: Once uploaded, submit your official entry form,  along with a screenshot of your Mod, YouTube link, description, and your Bethesda.net Mod URL.

Contest submission deadline is July 3, 2016.

NVIDIA will select the top five (5) mods in each category to move into the public voting final. Each entry will be judged based on the following criteria:

– Originality and creativity
– Overall graphical or functional quality and polish
– Entertainment value or “how fun is it to play?”

The top five Mods in each category (20 finalists total) will then be posted here and open to public voting beginning the week of July 11. The Grand Prize winner, along with the top winner from each category, will be determined by you, the community. All 20 finalists will automatically win a prize! Check out the full Terms and Conditions here.

What are you waiting for? Let’s get modding!

Fallout 4 – Robot Wars incoming!

AutomatronAutomatron, the first game add-on for Fallout 4 will be available via Steam on Tuesday March 22 and it looks amazing!

Get yourself ready to hunt down a horde of evil robots released by the mysterious Mechanist and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companion!  With hundreds of mods to choose from we can’t wait to tweak armour, abilities, and weapons to make our own perfect battle robot.

Makes me wish Fallout 4 had multiplayer…   Maybe soon…

VoteDLCWe’re also pretty interested in how everyone is feeling about this first DLC for Fallout 4 – specifically around paying for it.

In 2006, Bethesda Game Studios used their popular open world game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to test the waters of DLC with a pack the named “Horse armour” – which turned out to be one of the most criticized charges in DLC history, it did however (as a result of the rage that ensued) lead to a higher standard of content being released.

Is it enough to warrant you paying more money or do you think that it should be released as a free ‘update’ rather than a paid ‘add-on’?

We’ve just started up a quick poll asking how you all feel about this and opinions are split on this one!
