AMD REWARDS Xbox Game Pass for PC BONUS!

UPDATE: There is an odd quirk to the Game Pass 1-month code provided from the AMD token, if you try to redeem while a Game Pass subscription is already running it will not work, but if your cancel your current subscription it will. The issue has been reported to AMD – thanks!

AMD surprise us again with a second AMD Rewards bonus, this time for individual components rather than pre-built systems, such great news for those looking to grab themselves a new Ryzen CPU or Radeon 6000 series Graphics Card to upgrade their existing system!

This new offer gives us an Xbox Game Pass for PC 1-month subscription and is available with a wide selection of AMD components.

Perfectly timed with the impending day-one release of Halo Infinite via the Game Pass service, this Microsoft subscription gives users access to amazing new releases, and a curated library of over 100 high-quality PC games to download and enjoy.

To claim your code for this new AMD Rewards: Equipped to Win offer, you have to purchase an eligible PC component between the 26th of October 2021 and 30th June 2022, and because you’ll need to claim your AMD Rewards Key, this offer is only available from AMD authorised retailers (see PB Tech in NZ).

Please note: This new offer is only for stand-alone PC parts

The Game Pass or PC service is still somewhat new, but the Xbox team have stayed true to their original announcements from when they first kicked off back in 2019, and they’ve done a a fine job adding more and more titles to the library, and now the options are quite diverse, but the really good thing is they kept on including new games on the day the games are released!

via Microsoft (the original from back in 2019): Xbox Game Pass for PC will give players unlimited access to a curated library of over 100 high-quality PC games on Windows 10, from well-known PC game developers and publishers such as Bethesda, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Paradox Interactive, SEGA, and more. And just as we committed on the console, it is our intent to include new games from Xbox Game Studios in Xbox Game Pass for PC the same day as their global release, including titles from newly acquired studios like Obsidian and inXile. We’re working with over 75 developers and publishers to bring PC content to the service and we’ll ensure the library remains curated and full of great PC titles across a variety of genres, with new games added every month. Xbox Game Pass for PC members will also receive discounts in the Microsoft Store on Windows of up to 20% on games currently in the library and up to 10% off related game DLC and add-ons.

Fast forward to 2021 and there are so many awesome games included with Game Pass for PC service, among these the new releases Halo Infinite, Age of Empires IV and Forza Horizon 5 have a lot of attention, but there’s so much more, especially with the recently connected EA PLAY offers.

Even if you’re not looking to upgrade right now, you may want to get the Game Pass service via https://www.xbox.com/en-NZ/xbox-game-pass/pc-games anyway, and if the timing is right, you’ll nab a sweet introductory deal too.

Good Gaming CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X

UPDATE: The Radeon 6000 series is available now in the AMD Store

UPDATE: The Ryzen 5000 series is available now in the AMD Store

Wooohooo! AMD have just revealed a bunch of new AMD Ryzen Desktop CPU options and announced a global release date set for November 5th 🙂

Via AMD: When you have the world’s most advanced processor architecture for gamers and content creators, the possibilities are endless. Whether you are playing the latest games, designing the next skyscraper, or crunching data, you need a powerful processor that can handle it all—and more. Hands down, the AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series desktop processors set the bar for gamers and artists alike.

And they’re certainly looking great! During the event, AMDs’ technical marketing guru, Robert Hallock, took the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X through a series of games and performance benchmarks, at first showing the increase in performance VS his own Ryzen 9 3900XT, then moving into the same series of comparisons VS the Intel i9-10900K.

What was really cool about all this was that it was done on current gen motherboard platforms. This kind of boost in performance without a new motherboard is uncommon, and AMD is giving gamers, many of whom have already invested in an X570 or B550 series for their current 3rd gen CPU, the opportunity to do a same-socket CPU upgrade to their PC. We’ll know about exactly which CPU will work with which motherboard closer to release though.

For those gearing up, AMD Rewards have a Far Cry 6 game bonus offer set to begin on November 5th too, but this looks to only be for the Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X and 5950X CPU options – we’ll update with more info as it comes in.

It all looks awesome, and at the end Lisa Su continued to wow the crowd by holding up a MASSIVE new AMD RX 6800 XT graphics card, which is said to be detailed in another AMD release event taking place on October 28th (29th here in NZ, see you at 5am again!)
