The Division

Good Gaming – The Division Free Weekend

GGPC The Division Free Weekend

Tom Clancy’s The Division is having a FREE WEEKEND so we can all jump in and check out what’s good in this 3rd person loot grabbing shooter. you can download the client now directly from Steam by clicking the “play free” button 🙂

You’ll have access to the full base game (not the DLC, but that’s end game content anyway) which is great if you like to play solo, but the game really shines when you’re playing with friends so if possible group up and do the missions as a team – flanking is pretty effective and you’ll have a great time sitting back and dealing some savage damage with the biggest gun possible while the rest of your mates dive-roll endlessly 😛

These main missions contain what is certainly the most graphically impressive moments as well, and also tell the story of how everything became so messed up :/

You can of course jump into the Dark Zone PVP area as well and this is where you’ll find the most powerful loot, but getting it won’t be easy… be sure to spend some time in PvE honing your skills (diveroll diveroll diveroll) before getting involved in this side of the game, undoubtedly there will be ambushes awaiting all the new weekend recruits…

You’ll be able to carry over to any progress you made during the free weekend to the full version should you decide to grab it, and to tempt you further those fine folks a Ubisoft will have the game half price during the event!

As usual we couldn’t resist jumping on and capturing some gameplay with our own Custom Gaming PC 🙂 GAME ON!

Custom Gaming PC – Best of Computex 2016

The Computex 2016 expo was a showcase for some of the most talented modders in the world and while we were at the show hunting down new chassis, components and gaming gear we also took some time to meet the makers and see all the awesome custom PC they built!

There are a bunch of rig modding competitions with big prizes to inspire creativity so before we dive in here’s a bit more information about two of our favourites that you can participate in down here in New Zealand and Australia 🙂

The Cooler Master Case Mod World Series ANZ edition was created to recognize and promote modders within our community. Three Winners from ANZ region will be selected after the Case Mod World Series 2016 concludes on the 8th of June.  There are two categories you could choose to enter, the first begin a case modification and the second is a to build a PC from scratch which is loads of fun!

2016 Thermaltake CaseMOD Invitational Season 1’s modding theme is the Thermaltake Core P5 ATX Wall-Mount chassis. Participating modders have the choice of modding a single or dual build. Modders are given a special time frame to complete the build and are given an unlimited selection of Thermaltake products to mod and install on the build.

Now everyone knows what’s up let’s take a look at some builds!

This one is a rather cool build (lol couldn’t resist) from case modder Jenki – It takes Captain Americas shield and encases it within ice as it slices through the P5 – pretty crazy stuff and he’s even modded a gaming keyboard to match!

If you’re a fan the Gundam Anime you might have recognised this build right away, a creation by modder Von Carlo Rasonabe (Reapervon) this one is named “The Weapon of Mass Destruction” and it’s pretty massive!

We also spotted an out of this world mod known as the BAHIA BLASTER by case modder Maciel Barreto, aside from the liquid coolant reservoir on the front it’s pretty hard to tell this one is a gaming PC!  Enermax had some of the best cable management of the show with an excellent Division custom build but the Gigabyte Mini-Gun PC was certainly the show stopper with its rotating barrel – check out this beast in action!

These are just a small slice of what’s on show, other highlights included a very cool NZXT noctis chassis with a very impressive window graphics, there was a Ghost Busters LEGO PC complete with green goo and an incredible InWin S Frame lit up with Steampunk style.

Check out the GGPC Instagram for more pictures of awesome custom PC builds from modders around the world!

Good Graphics – The Division

New York is in trouble. A devastating epidemic sweeps through the city and in the wake of the disease basic services fail one by one. Without food and water, the streets are in chaos and new factions rise to profit from the mayhem. Amid the chaos, a classified unit of self-supported sleeper agents known as The Division is activated and tasked with one mission: take back the city.

We’ll be fighting to piece the city back together one block at a time in this latest Ubisoft release and whether you like to play solo, support a group of friends, or sit back and dish out damage with the biggest gun possible – you’re going to need some heafty hardware to run this one well, things have been turned up a bit since the BETA!

looking first at a very popular Gaming Laptop configuration, the Nvidia GTX 960m inside is quite happy making a mess inside this sports centers diner, and check out that 7GB RAM usage!

Next up on the desktop side, our GTX 960 Graphics Card + intel i5 quad core combo from the GGPC Assassin Gaming heats things up in this festive looking department store 🙂

While the main missions contain what is certainly the most graphically impressive moments we’ve encountered in the game so far, there is an open-world RPG experience to be enjoyed running around within the darkzone fulled with tactical decisions, RPG action, trading and more loot than you can fit into your pack.

Good Graphics Card – AMD vs Nvidia BONUS

GGPollAMD has entered the fray with a pretty tempting offer of their own to spice things up, while both teams have Farcry Primal up for grabs Hitman and The Division are now going head to head as bonus offers on selected graphics cards.

We asked “Both Nvidia and AMD have some great bonus games available now with selected graphics cards, teams aside which game would you prefer out of Hitman (2016) and The Division?” and even though it’s only a couple hours into the poll it seems the Division is striking out with a rather large lead – the peoples choice indeed!

No matter what side you’re on it’s pretty much a win win isn’t it – two epic games either way you play!

Once you’ve geared up with your new hardware you can use these links to get your hands on these awesome games 🙂 For Farcry Primal, Tom Clancy’s The Division or Hitman & also another sweet bonus for the red team is Star Wars!
