X570 Motherboard

Good Gaming – 3rd Gen Ryzen, new X570 Motherboards & AMD RX 5700 XT Graphics!

It’s exciting times for PC builders with the new AMD Ryzen 3000 series just released in New Zealand!

UPDATE: New parts have been added to the Ryzen Custom PC Builder Tool. For the X570 and PCIe 4.0 SSD specifically, there is also a new Ryzen X570 Master Builder 🙂

It’s important to note that only the new Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G include integrated VEGA graphics, with the others, you’ll need to pair dedicated graphics cards in your builds.

The key takeaway information is faster clock speeds, faster RAM supported and a larger L3 cache – many of the models look to include the top-tier Ryzen Wraith Prism RGB Cooler too, rather than the previous Wraith Spire RGB option. If you’re using a current gen AM4 A320, B450 or X470 motherboard be sure to check the BIOS updates before you install the new CPU.

Regarding cache, it’s basically a really small amount of fast memory used by the CPU, so for those who aren’t familiar here’s a quick metaphor.

You are a CPU, actively working on something with your right hand

Have something on the workbench in front of you (data in L2 cache)

Have something behind you in the cupboard (data in L3 cache)

Data which is stored in your RAM or SSD is like having it another room, so it takes a bit longer to fetch (we’re talking fractions of a second though)

Motherboard wise, we have a new X570 series releasing on the same day and this is ready to go with Ryzen 3000 right out of the box. Having one of these will also allow your build to use the latest PCIe 4.0 SSD storage options from Gigabyte and Corsair.

For those want to create an all-new AMD system there are also two new Graphics Cards releasing – the AMD RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT – and these get also get an AMD REWARDS Microsoft GAMEPASS bonus, see more info on that here 🙂

Massive thanks to ARTIS for capturing so much gameplay FPS test footage so fast, lots more AMD RX 5700 series gameplay on the ARTIS YouTube Channel.

Benchmark wise, 3D Mark has just released a new option for those wanting to test the AMD’s third-generation Ryzen processors, the new X570 motherboards and that oh so fancy PCIe 4.0 SSD.

GAME ON!
